Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

This is one of those cases where two favorite things collide, and from these visuals, it looks like it's going to be a wonderful, crazy, Burton-esque trip down the rabbit hole!

Shiny Things

I have been remiss in posting some of my own artwork lately. I plan to remedy that soon, for I am working on two projects, and a third that will begin in July. In the meantime, here are a few things that I do not think I ever posted. I know that I announced them and posted links to Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, but at the time I did not have the bottles and lockets in my possession.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's Carnaval Diabolique series, Act V, The Wunderkammer labels:

Black Phoenix Trading Post scent lockets inspired by the short stories of Neil Gaiman:

Endless

I am always fascinated when an artist whose work I admire shares a little bit about the process involved in creating a finished piece. And this is the case with Michael Zulli, who has created a beautiful interpretation of Neil Gaiman's Endless from the Sandman series.

Click here to see his blog posts showing the progression from line drawing to ink, all the way to the painted finish.

And the winner is...

Two of you? On a whim, I told randomizer.org to give me two winning numbers rather than just one. It rattled out number 72 and number 57.

Imagine my surprise when I hopped over here and discovered that those two numbers were hit dead-on. I asked Nathan, the math major with a bent for statistics, how likely that was. Since it was late and he was tired, he basically said, "That's not going to be a common occurrence."

Congratulations to ammie and Cindy-n-Steve!

Everyone, stay tuned! :)

Free Earrings!

I have created a stunning pair of earrings to give away in my first ever blog contest! Two blue fire labradorite faceted baguette beads have been wrapped with oxidized sterling silver wire and are finished off with handmade oxidized sterling silver earwires.

These are the beads I used to create the earrings:

This is the first of a long series of blog contests, which will randomly appear at various times throughout the year. This first contest is simple:

1. Leave a comment to this entry between now and June 14th at 11:59PM Pacific Time.
2. In the comment, choose a number between 1 and 100.
3. Leave your email address (or enable comment notification) so that I am able to contact you if you are the winner.

I will be using randomizer.org to select the winning number. The closest guess is the winner!
