I just completed my spring collection at Elements & Artifacts! Here are some of my favorites:
Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough.
Frosts are slain and flowers begotten,
And in green underwood and cover
Blossom by blossom the spring begins.
The personification of March.
O! how this spring of love resembleth
The uncertain glory of an April day!
The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You're one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you're two months back in the middle of March.
She of the Twilight
the very first firefly
of the season
flew into my yard
and danced in circles
around the shrine
of the Holy Mother
a tiny fairy light
gleaming in the darkness
no falling stars
I made a wish
upon my little fairy light
and sent it onward
Winter's barrenness has subsided,
From the death of Winter
Springs new life.
It is said that Eos rose up into the sky from the river Okeanos at the start of each day, and with her rays of light dispersed the mists of night.
Spring has not come until you can set your foot on twelve daisies.
Buds burst open.
Leaves and vines unfurl.
